Indonesia

Indonesia is a country made up of over 17,000 islands located southeast of Asia, and north west of Australia.

My first link is to the Perry-Castañeda Library map collection at the University of Texas.  This site has many various maps including historical, economical, and political information.  These maps vary in scale, from country down to city maps.  This would be a good place to start looking for any map one might need for Indonesia.

My second link is to the Jakarta Post's website.  The Jakarta Post is a newspaper, it is pretty much like other newspapers, it will tell you the weather, news, or how the JSX or rupiah (their currency) is doing relative to the rest of the world.  This site is a good place to go if you wanted to know what has been going on recently in this area of the world.

My third link is to the CIA fact book website.  This site would be useful if specific facts are needed.  Such as if one needed to know how long the border is between East Timor and Indonesia.  Also it gives a good summery of country as a whole.

My fourth link is for the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress.  This is a country profile giving a wide variety of information ranging from the country's history, economics, school systems, etc.  This is probably the web page with the most information on the country, but no maps.

My fifth link is to BPS which is a statistics web page for Indonesia.  This site is good for looking up some past statistics and new ones.  Information ranges from infant mortality to foreign trade.

This site was made by Richard Knott for his geography 108 class, also to assist others in the research of Indonesia
